I highly agree with this. Although I love Rhinanna, I bet people wouldn’t have cared if he, oh let’s say, hit one of his guy friends.
It really annoys me when people say things like “You can’t hit a girl!”, as if being a girl has anything to with anything! No one should be harming anyone, regardless of gender or anything else! suaigyAFUOayofs
Sorry just it seems like I always try to convince my friends of this and they always say stupid stuff like “no but it’s different hitting a guy is one thing but hitting a girl is fucked up”
whatever 8U

You’re missing the point.  It’s not like Chris Brown just hit Rihanna on the shoulder.  Guys hit each other as a joke.  I’m all for both genders hitting each other as jokes, great.  But Chris Brown beat up Rihanna.  If you’ve seen the photos you’ll see that she had a black eye and she looked terrible.  He physically abused Rihanna and the mass media just kind of skimmed over it.

“If girls can hit boys, why can’t guys do the same?”I think you’re pretty much missing the point of equal ‘rights’ - women are not allowed to hit men. Some women do, it doesn’t make it okay. This whole argument is really so horribly worded that it seems to insinuate that women should assume they have it coming considering domestic violence against men exists. It’s wrong no matter who the victim is. No one deserves it and it’s never okay. Ergo, yes, it’s a pretty big deal.

There is no excuse for domestic violence; OP’s points are mostly ridiculous.
On the other hand, I do think he/she correctly identifies one problem—if Chris Brown had violently beaten up a man, it wouldn’t be an issue anymore. And I’m not saying that his beating up Rihanna should be shrugged off; in fact, I think it should be a much, much bigger issue than it is (ugh, stupid Grammys). Domestic violence cases need far more attention, prevention, and support. But when guys beat each other up, people take it as a matter of course because supposedly, that’s just what guys do. Well, it isn’t. It’s outrageous and horrible and cruel that any person, regardless of gender, is being physically abused.
Nonetheless, women should never, EVER be shamed for continually calling attention to Chris Brown’s crime. If anyone has issues with male on male violence, they should just protest that, instead of calling people who focus on other issues misandrists or feminazis.
